Spatial Computer Vision Engineer Intern - Undergraduate

About the Team:

At Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), our mission is to provide entertainment experiences beyond what existing games can deliver. Our team explores new user experiences (UX) and develops cutting-edge technologies that leverage real space. We focus on creating unprecedented UX through real-time spatial recognition technology. The field of spatial recognition is continuously evolving, and we actively explore and test the latest innovations from conferences to push the boundaries of entertainment. We're looking for interns passionate about technology development and UX exploration to join us in crafting the future of spatial entertainment.

What You'll Be Doing:




  • Stay updated on the latest research papers related to real-time spatial understanding.



  • Collaborate with team members to address challenges when integrating solutions into our UX app (e.g., processing speed issues).



  • Provide weekly progress reports to the team.



  • Prepare and present a final report summarizing the results of your internship.





What We're Looking For:




  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in 3D Computer Vision or a related field from an accredited institution, with an expected graduation date by Spring 2026.



  • Experience in research using machine learning, particularly deep learning.



  • Strong skills in prototyping and implementing real-time computer vision algorithms.



  • Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV.



  • Programming experience in Python, C++, or C.



  • Strong problem-solving and effective communication skills.



  • Basic knowledge of 3D graphics (GFX) and spatial concepts.





Eligibility:




  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.



  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.



  • Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.



  • Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.





Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$50 $50 USD
