ChampionX has an immediate need for a Regional Operations Marketing Director in our Chemical Technologies business group located in Sugar Land, Texas.This position will serve as the Marketing and Technology Business Partner (MTBP) and work directly with our Upstream US Land Sales Leadership as well as Marketing and Technology Leadership.

This is a key management position that reports to the Director of Western Hemisphere Regional Operations for Chemical Technologies. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing near-term business and marketing strategies while aligning with Chemical Technologies' core goals and vision.

What You Will Do:

In this role as Marketing and Technology Business Partner (MTBP), your primary responsibility is the understanding of our market and customer needs and values, and to deliver and execute a strategy that enables us to strengthen leadership position in the market

Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business goals
  • Identify technology gaps by analyzing market trends and understanding customer needs
  • Manage the technology pipeline, work closely with Product Marketing and Sales teams to prioritize and develop new technology solutions
  • Validate the business case and commercialization plan for any product development
  • Determine overall product catalog and pricing based on market needs and pricing analytics (manage technology portfolio)
  • Work closely with Upstream Onshore Segment Marketer to develop and ultimately execute on near-term strategies for the Region
  • High level understanding of industry trends, drivers and leading indicators. Extrapolate that knowledge to provide recommendations and high level summary to regions
  • Prepare sales and marketing plans for segment
  • Understand segment P&L and business financials. Combine with business specific data to make business recommendations
  • Evaluate adjacent technology opportunities to market
  • Analyze market SWOT analysis to evaluate needs and gaps in segment portfolio

Position Details:This position is located in Sugar Land, Texas. The role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, plus 8+ years of experience in sales, technology or marketing
  • Broad knowledge of the upstream production chemical industry
  • Demonstration of strategic and tactical sales and marketing capabilities
  • Ability to lead without assigned authority
  • Strong communication skills laterally, and vertically
  • Ability to think strategically, while also anticipating short term challenges and solutions
  • Experience inspiring a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to provide enhanced and/or faster service, safer working conditions and reduced risks
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and document management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage well with stakeholders to translate their needs into effective outcomes.
  • Experience leading large global teams who have diverse range of skills and abilities, without assigned authority
  • Experience building and maintaining a SharePoint Online site
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Experience with specialty chemicals in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Knowledge of ChampionX business and processes
