KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Actuarial Managed Services to join our Audit practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with leadership, alliances, business and industry teams to drive demand and deliver Actuarial managed services solution within the US and support similar opportunities globally; direct and manage staff level personnel and collaborate with peers in the execution of actuarial managed services projects for life insurers and reinsurers
  • Engage with clients to support new sales / marketing and on-going client management activities in the US and support for member firms; provide quality and insightful client service to life insurers transforming their business through adoption of outsourcing business models
  • Collaborate with non-actuarial professionals aiding in sales and delivery of managed services that include broader finance, risk and compliances components; establish training requirements for resources at the delivery center including development of a training curriculum
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project timelines and support budget analysis; help shape the delivery of services and solutions; support establishment of a governance structure around delivery center; support development of the actuarial managed service solution charter, policies and procedures; co-ordinate with the delivery network team to ensure consistency around the operating model
  • Establish a delivery model for the US firm to utilize the delivery center for manager services and tailor to specific emerging client needs and opportunities; drive the establishment and development of the offshore delivery center for Actuarial managed services, including supporting hiring and on-boarding activities
  • Provide guidance and oversight on deployment of the Actuarial managed service solution across all member firms; support member firms with onboarding the Actuarial managed service solution

Qualifications:
  • Minimum four years of recent experience in global delivery and sales support of actuarial and insurance consulting/advisory and managed services solutions, and/or solution delivery for a technology services company; industry expertise in a highly technical and fast paced environment including at least two years of recent experience in providing complex services advisory and/or support
  • Minimum eight years of recent actuarial work experience including knowledge of: US GAAP, IFRS 17 and statutory valuation methodologies; minimum two years of recent consulting experience
  • Bachelor or Master of business management degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Strong business development skills and industry presence; robust working relationships with a book of insurance clients is desired; deep understanding of shared services, managed services and/or outsourcing in Financial Services industry
  • Able to work on multiple projects and/or with multiple supervisors and be able to prioritize work without intensive direction from supervisors
  • Proven domain experience in actuarial and finance, not limited to valuation and financial reporting and controls, risk management / model risk management, insurance statutory compliances, and actuarial model management
  • Ability to travel as necessary
