The Salvation Army Mission Statement:

A. BASIC PURPOSE
To coordinate all aspects of the Social Services programs of the Redding Corps. Work directly with staff, volunteers, venders, visitors, and clients providing available assistance. Responsible for oversight of food pantry, food related donations, food distribution, food processing and documentation, agency reporting in a timely manner. Responsible for intake, screening and reporting for rental, utility, and seasonal assistances. Assist in planning of organized events for donations, public relations, and other means to supplement and support the Redding Social Services programs.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Answer and respond to all telephone calls and emails directing messages to the appropriate departments.
* Make appointments, interview, and screen all those seeking assistance with food, utilities or rent, ensuring all documentation is handled appropriately.
* Oversee all aspects of food distribution to include, but not limited to, food sorting, box packing, receiving, preparing, reporting, and coordinating volunteers and staff in relation to the food pantry.
* Prepare client files and records to include copies of necessary documentation and secure them appropriately.
* Keep an accurate record of funding received and disbursed, monitoring the financial status of all Social Services programs. Complete all monthly reports required by The Salvation Army and other partner agencies.
* Order and maintain food supplies and plan and implement the preparation of food distribution.
* Coordinate seasonal assistance programs along with Corps Officers and assist with other seasonal programs, community events, projects, and handle office tasks as necessary.
* Network with surrounding social service agencies to cultivate strong working relationships.
* Supervise volunteers assigned to the Social Services department, ensuring that all volunteers complete paperwork and child safety training, sign in and out on volunteer hour logs, and prepare reports as needed to Shasta County Probation Departments and other entities that assign volunteers to The Salvation Army.
* All other related duties assigned by Corps management.
C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT
1. Must be 21 years of age.
2. Valid California driver's license
3. High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
4. Ability to speak and write the English language at a high and professional level.
5. High degree of confidentiality.
6. Computer literate, in Windows environment (Microsoft Office), Publisher, Access and Microsoft Outlook.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence.
9. Excellent organizational skills.
10. Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks.
11. Ability to self-motivate and work with minimal supervision.
12. Due to the nature of the work, flexibility is required
D. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
1. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle
2. Must be 21 years or older.
3. Authorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice Program
4. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
2. Ability to reach overhead, grasp, push, and/or pull objects
3. Ability to lift 40 lbs.
4. Ability to operate telephone
5. Ability to operate a computer
6. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
7. Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools, PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer, and miscellaneous office equipment.
