Job Summary
Auburn University Office of International Programs is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated graduate assistant to join the marketing team and assist with the creation and maintenance of communications and marketing materials for the office. As a GA, you will work with our marketing team to brainstorm, develop and implement marketing strategies across OIP units.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with the design of print and digital content (e.g. fliers, brochures, social media graphics, banners, etc.) to promote and increase attendance at OIP events and increase OIP's campus-wide exposure. Knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Express/Adobe Creative Cloud are required.


  • Assist with maintaining OIP's social media presence by brainstorming and scheduling engaging social media campaigns. Knowledge and proficiency in using Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn are required.
  • Assist with drafting news releases and feature stories that promote OIP programming and initiatives. Familiarity with Auburn's writing style guide is preferred.
  • Assist with website maintenance as needed.
  • Attend requested OIP events for social media coverage and follow-up feature stories (if appropriate).
Minimum Qualifications

  • A graduate student at Auburn University studying communications, marketing, public relations or a related field. (A minimum of 1 year must be left in applicant's program to be eligible to apply.)


  • Computer literate (working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with proven proficiency in Adobe Express/Adobe Creative Cloud for graphic design development.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in using Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn. Previous experience developing a social media calendar and executing a social media campaign is preferred.
  • Knowledge and proven application of AP style. Familiarity with Auburn's writing style guide is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in social media space.
  • An effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with university stakeholder groups.
  • An interest in travel and international education/collaboration is a plus.

Pay Rate $24,000/annually
