The anticipated salary range for this role is between $103,000.00and $206,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

This position is part of the Information Technology group and will work as part of the existing Cloud Engineering team. The role is to migrate existing servers and applications to the Azure cloud, design and build infrastructure using Azure services for new applications, and build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

Role Objectives
  • Design secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Azure
  • Design and improve CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions
  • Work with the software engineering team to define requirements
  • Design, deploy, and manage system architecture that leverages containers using Azure Kubernetes Service or Azure Red Hat OpenShift
  • Design and troubleshoot Linux-based container infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot problems across a wide range of services and functional areas
  • Build and maintain operational tools to monitor and analyze Azure infrastructure and systems
  • Resolve technical issues that may pose a risk to production systems or the business
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation for architecture implementation plans and build reusable patterns and trends for future cloud solutions
  • Proactively provide technical guidance to developers of business functions when there are challenges or obstacles to cloud platform adoption
Qualifications and Skills

* 6-7+ years of cloud experience; 5+ years of DevOps experience preferred
* Experience with Azure services (Azure Functions, SQL, API Management, Virtual Machines, Data Factory, Databricks, etc.)
* Experience with container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes or OpenShift and microservice architectures
* Experience with CI/CD services such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.
* Experience working with external clients and managing client expectations and outcomes
* Technical understanding of application design and SDLC lifecycle
* Knowledge/experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, App Insight, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana, and Fluentbit would be an advantage
* Deep understanding of Azure networking and landing zone architecture.
Software/Programming languages
* Good understanding of IaC software such as Terraform, ARM, etc.
* Familiarity with Linux, Python, web applications, relational databases
Education
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
* Cloud Certification - Azure DevOps, Azure Architect
