Position Summary

Undertakes a professional internship designed to provide on-the-job training and experience to recent college graduates. Engages in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at a professional level, typically identified with a targeted exempt position. Receives training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments. This is a fixed-term position, typically up to 24 months.

* Assists with job
postings and hiring paperwork to support recruitment efforts.
* Handles the ordering
of uniforms and name tags for staff and student volunteers.
* Participates in
special projects that enhance departmental initiatives.
* Provides support for
conferences, including logistics and preparation.
* Manages card access
requests for facility.
* Oversees the
wellness committee, coordinating meetings and initiatives.
* Develops and
implements training modules for staff.
* Sets up interviews
and assists with the interview process for new hires.
* Performs
miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
  • Must present transcripts prior to a formal offer being extended.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • This is a fixed-term position, typically up to 24 months.


Minimum Qualifications

Must have obtained a Bachelor's or higher level degree no more than 24 months prior to the date of hire OR if the Bachelor's (or higher level) degree was obtained more than 24 months prior to the date of hire, the individual must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher level) degree program; no previous work experience required.



Preferred Qualifications

Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint) and familiarity with other relevant software (e.g., project
management tools, HR systems).
Previous internship or work experience in a
professional environment.
Involvement in student organizations or leadership
roles that demonstrate teamwork and initiative.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented
environment.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively
with students and staff.
Capacity to handle multiple tasks and projects with
varying complexity, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness.
Experience with managing projects or events, including
logistics and coordination.
Willingness to learn and grow through training and
mentorship opportunities.
Self-motivated with a strong desire to contribute to
the team's goals and initiatives.
Understanding
of and sensitivity to diverse populations and environments.
