Overview
The Agency of Education (AOE) is recruiting for a Director of Education Finance. Reporting to the CFO, the incumbent will serve as "second in command" overseeing Education Finance and will be seen as a subject matter expert and a statewide leader on Education financial matters. This unique position requires independent expert level thinking as decisions made have an immediate impact on taxpayers and school districts throughout the state. The Education Finance division consists of three distinct teams and thirteen total staff. The Director will oversee, monitor, manage and provide technical assistance about all aspects of education finance, totaling nearly $2 billion across the entire Statewide Education System. In addition to managing the technical operations of the division, the Director will also be responsible for formulation of Division and project budgets, staff development, and change management as it relates to Education Finance. This position works in close collaboration with many State Agencies and provides expert testimony and data to the legislative money and education committees. This position is open to a substantial amount of remote work but will require in-office functions, as determined by the CFO. Salary within pay grade negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting, but some travel will require private means of transportation. Duties may require extensive time outside of normal work hours. Incumbent will be expected to assist the CFO and department/agency heads in testifying before the Legislature. Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years or more of experience in a financial leadership role, managing a major fiscal program or operation where functional responsibilities included highly complex fiscal analysis, fiscal modeling, and budgeting. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, science, mathematics, engineering, or finance related programs. Total Compensation
