What We DoAssist escrow branch operations with disbursement of escrow transactions by printing checks, issuing wires, creating cover letters, and issuing final HUD's. Review and prepare closing files for disbursement once the file is closed. Confirm that the file balances are accurate and disburse the funds according to directions, most often by issuing checks. Work with lenders, buyers and escrow officers to balance files that have closed and disburse the file.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares wires and checks for transfer
  • Prepares and emails various drafts of settlement statement to the parties
  • Provide internal and external customer service
  • Numeric and alphanumeric data entry into First American proprietary software
  • Answer a moderate volume of phone calls
  • Participates in conference calls as needed to discuss flow of funds
  • Ensure file is properly balanced and reconcile any differences with Escrow Officer.
  • Reconcile incoming and outgoing wires.
  • Embraces technology and outsourcing
  • Is an active member participating in all training and NCS calls
  • Strong working knowledge of Corporate and divisional policies and procedures including wire fraud
  • Multi-tasking and prioritizing files
  • Communicating and meeting deadlines
  • Liaising with clients and all parties within the transaction

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

  • Intermediate level working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and escrow related software.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.

  • Basic accounting knowledge including accounts receivable
  • Settlement statement (HUD) knowledge helpful
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Detail orientated
  • Work efficiently and accurately in high pressure situations
  • Training within the company software systems such as FAST and Clarity First (training will be both in person, remote, and through Knowledge Spot modules)
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years Banking and/or Escrow Experience highly preferred

Pay Range: $21.62-$28.83 Hourly
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
