The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and client focused individual to work on our Mid-West/ West south Central team as a Manager, Broker Services. In this role, you will report to the VP, Broker Services and be responsible for executing on the company's client experience and retention strategies for broker-controlled business within the Mid-West / West south Central region. You will serve as a liaison between the company and agency/distribution partners. You will also serve as a "face of the company" and an ambassador of our brand, product, and mission - fostering positive relationships with the medical community, institutions, and organizations within the region, as well as with our new and existing broker partners. Working in tandem and collaboration with Underwriting, Risk Management, Claims, Finance and other key functional areas of the organization, you will utilize their strong product and market knowledge to ensure a high level of broker and insured satisfaction; to maximize policy retention and profitability; and to promote utilization of company platforms, products, and services.

Key Result Areas

  • Makes consistent business decisions, supports company underwriting and pricing philosophies and promotes ease of doing business with Curi.
  • Monitors agency results and follows-up with agent partners as to retention, persistency and compliance with company's initiatives, procedures and policies.
  • Actively participates in new agent/member on-boarding processes.
  • Provides ongoing training and education to agents to ensure they are knowledgeable about all Curi member benefits and mission to help physicians in medicine, business, and life.
  • Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with agents, insureds, underwriting, claims, risk management, finance, and corporate departments.
  • Keeps two-way communication between agents and the company continuously open and viable and encourages usage of all Curi's online platforms, especially the policy management portals.
  • Manages the renewal process for large accounts in collaboration with agents and internal stakeholders by delivering and presenting renewal policies to agent partners. Provides education on policy enhancements, coverage changes, pricing adjustments, and other relevant updates.
  • Encourages and attends joint client meetings with agents and/or Business Development representatives to foster a more meaningful direct relationship with the practice.
  • Stays alert for and advises company of any industry information, market intelligence, competitor products/services/strategic initiatives or changes in other carrier philosophies that could positively or adversely affect Curi. Also offers feedback on product enhancements that may resonate with our members.
  • Audits agent's Curi book of business to provide quality assurance feedback to agent and underwriting team.
  • Represents and promotes the company by being and active attendant and participant at relevant industry conferences, tradeshows, and conventions.
  • Timely entry and maintenance of CRM data in Salesforce application.
  • Reporting of activity, progress, and market intelligence during weekly team meetings.
  • Meet regularly and frequently with Business Development, Underwriting, Claims, Risk Management, and Curi Capital to stay abreast of their initiatives and services, to adequately educate our agents/members.
  • Actively contribute to the creation/improvement of service infrastructure and standards.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of corporate broker strategy.

Key Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of Medical Professional Liability experience or 10+ years in the commercial insurance industry space as a producer or in a healthcare business development/retention capacity
  • Property & Casualty Insurance Producer's License

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of Medical Professional Liability insurance experience

Travel

Regular and frequent regional travel throughout Mid-West / West south Central, and any additional states that may become part of the Mid-West / West south Central region. Occasional overnight and weekend travel within Curi footprint.
