Primary Responsibilities The Transportation Planning Intern/Co-Op will work as a member as part of a team on multiple projects serving clients in the New England area, such as NHDOT, Mass DOT and MBTA along with some national pursuits. The position includes multimodal planning support for traffic and transit studies. The successful candidate will support Complete Streets assignments, evaluate Bus Rapid Transit plans, Bicycle and Pedestrian projects, and possibly assist with FTA and FHWA grant applications. The candidate will need to be a self-motivated individual who utilizes the highest level of professionalism while performing transportation planning and engineering assignments. Preferred Qualifications * Knowledge of or interest in learning ArcGIS, Synchro * Knowledge of or interest in learning AutoCAD or Microstation * 3.0 GPA or higher preferred * A minimum of 2 years completed toward degree * Students with at least one prior internship in the transportation industry preferred. * Strong preference given to local candidates available for winter session (start January 2025) Required Qualifications Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program Attention to detail Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills Basic Microsoft Office skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
