Job Summary: The Logistics Coordinator will perform administrative tasks to support to the Transportation Supervisor with the tactical execution of company strategies. The position requires excellent skills in both oral and written communication with customers, vendors and fellow employees. This position will support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area:



  • Confirmation of completion of order delivery and compliance with specified details
  • Maintains records of all shipments, sorting, indexed, and arranging documents in a file according to an established system
  • Scheduling of all pickup and delivery appointments with customers, vendors and brokers daily
  • Assist with the Scheduling of pickup and delivery appointments as needed
  • Provide data entry as directed within delivery, ERP, and other online systems
  • Retrieves data or correspondence from files as requested within an appropriate time frame
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of shipping or raw material receiving schedules and of any known logistics problems
  • Creates and distributes performance reporting to the management team daily
  • Assist with maintaining an environment that encourages a safe and compliant fleet
  • Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Perform other duties as directed or assigned


Other primary duties and responsibilities include the following; however, Management reserves the right to assign or reassign other appropriate duties to this job at any time.

Ideal Candidate Possesses These Attributes:



  • Attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the transportation/distribution/warehousing field
  • Ability to cultivate relationships within Plant, Fleet and DC operations
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service and strong communication and interpersonal skills (both listening and speaking)
  • Supports project teams to achieve milestones and objectives



Qualifications:



  • Education/experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ yrs. experience in transportation or billing / accounting type job preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Software Programs (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate insights to others
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems
  • Thorough Knowledge of Transportation/Freight Billing
  • Ability to meet deadlines; prioritize workloads and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, vendors, suppliers and finance personnel
