As Senior Manager Data Management Operations, you focus and achieve business objectives by providing leadership, strategic consultancy and management of the Data Management Operations function. You collaborate with companywide stakeholders to identify requirements, assess impacts to other business processes and systems, consider available technologies, compare costs and benefits, and recommend Global Data Management Operations processes and solutions based on Global Data Governance standards. You also ensure results meet expectations and adhere to internal standards and strategies and have responsibility for planning and managing all activities within the assigned scope. This includes defining the Global Data Management policies, procedures and processes and participation in the data management workstreams for strategic initiatives projects, designing and executing the data management processes including new work flow routing and data maintenance as well as data quality management.

You also support the business strategy by participating in the development of the Global Data Management Operations strategy and seeing through its successful implementation. . You provide high-level consulting direction on Data Governance and Data Management and underlying data technology directions while proactively working to minimize cost, maximizing the utilization of assets employed, and increasing the effectiveness of business decision information to improve the competitive position. You are also responsible for the successful delivery of the data operations aspects of IS projects, enhancements, and overall operation of existing data processes within budget and performance requirements. This position is based out of the PPG corporate Pittsburgh office and reports to the Global Director, Logistics and MDM.

Responsibilities:
* Overseeing the entering and maintaining master data in all systems in compliance with Global data standards, polices, procedure and key performance metrics
* Understanding Global and SBU, Function and Master Data rules and associated Data Governance workflows
* Ensuring data is complete and accurate in advance of entry or maintenance in any system
* Directing communication and coordination with originators or approvers of data to address any inconsistent or incomplete data
* Recommending any improvements related to data quality and the related operations
* Direct interfacing with internal customers for follow-up and clarification
* Participating in data maintenance projects as assigned, such as health check reports or BI analysis
* Focus on automation and continuous process improvement to drive team efficiencies

Requirements
* A bachelor's degree in business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required; MBA highly desired
* Greater than 10-15 years (working as a data professional with experience in Data Governance and Data Management best practices, process design and implementation) including supervision/mgmt experience
* Experience in the strategic use of data in managing and growing a business
* Previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement is desirable, involving broad based information systems and utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change
* Strong business knowledge and ability to express complex data concepts in terms that are understandable to the business
* Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management.
* Experienced in project management and execution of enterprise projects and managing budget
* Strong teamwork and excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing such as White Papers
* Ability to be comfortable in a nonhierarchical, flat organization; ability to thrive in a somewhat unstructured hands on environment that demands a consultative approach and solutions that span multiple environments in a business area.
