Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Ph.D. in mental health and substance abuse is required.

We are seeking aManager of Social Services and Discharge Planning(LCSW, LCPC, or Ph.D.) to join and provide leadership to our passionate and dedicated care team withMaineHealth Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor! TheManager of Social Services and Discharge Planningwill maintain primary accountability for the management and delivery of safe and effective patient care and for the day-to-day functions of theMaineHealth Behavioral Health at Spring HarborChild/Adolescent/Developmental Disorders (DD) Social Services and Discharge Planningteam.

Set on 50 private acres,MaineHealth Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor is southern Maine's only private psychiatric treatment and recovery center. Our inpatient programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults providehope for those who suffer from a variety of mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance use),as well as, Maine's only hospital treatment unit for youth who experience both mental illness and a developmental disorder, such as autism.

We are fortunate to have a unique collaboration with Maine Medical Center, which allows us to offer the most complete array of psychiatric treatment, physician-training, and medical-research programs north of Boston.

TheManagershares the leadership of the service and is responsible for standardizing the operating procedures and coordinating the delivery of social services within MaineHealth Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor's Child/Adolescent/DD Social Services and Discharge Planning department.

Additional responsibilities of theManagerrole include:

  • Directly responsible for the management of care team members, patient outcomes, design, delegation and supervision of workload, and team building.
  • Works closely with the Director of Social Services and Discharge Planning to ensure quality and compliance of clinical documentation.
  • Ensure program sustainability through effective service utilization and caseload management leading to the achievement of the overall clinical and financial goals.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Master's degree in Social Work, psychology or related field is required.

2. License/Certifications: Maine State licensure to practice at the independent level of an LCSW, LCPC, or Ph.D. in mental health and substance abuse is preferred. An LCSW or LCPC is required.

3. Experience: 5 years of work experience in a health or mental health setting preferred, and 3 + years of clinical supervisory and management experience preferred.

4. Able to teach basic social work principles and applications to the medical setting

5. Proficiency in psychosocial assessment and treatment and considerable knowledge of community resources and agencies and how to use them in resolving complex problems related to health, illness and disability
