($10,000.00 Sign on Bonus paid in 3 installments, prorated for PartTime)

Current MaineHealth employees not eligible for the sign on bonus. Must be separated from MaineHealth system for 6months to be eligible.

  • The Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department at Maine Medical Center. Core functions include:
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy.
  • Respond to medical emergencies in the ED and code blue activations across the hospital.
  • Educate patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to enhance clinical competency on all topics related to the use of medication therapy.
  • Provide direction to pharmacy technicians, students and residents to ensure optimal medication management.
  • Evaluate medication use processes and current literature with a goal of continuous process improvement.
  • Candidate qualifications are as follows:
  • Pharm.D. from an accredited College of Pharmacy and pharmacist licensure eligibility to practice in the State of Maine required.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: The Clinical Pharmacist role reviews medication orders for safe and effective medication use; collaborates with physicians and other health care personnel to achieve optimal patient outcomes; and formulates recommendations based on current literature and evidence-based practice.

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license with Board of Pharmacy required.

3. Experience: Previous pharmacist experience preferred.
