Part-Time, Nights

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for ED Techs - (CNA):

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Unit Bio:

The Maine Medical Center (MMC) emergency department (ED) is Maine's only American College of Surgeons Level One verified trauma center. Located in Portland, the MMC ED is also home to Maine's onlypediatric emergency department. Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to meet the needs of a high-volume patient population from Maine and New Hampshire, as well as visitors from all over the world. Patients seen in the ED may be experiencing Chest pain, Falls greater than 10 feet resulting in injury, Heart attack, Seizures, Suicidal thoughts or actions, mental health crisis, Physical attack or rape and Poisoning among other conditions.

Summary:

The Emergency Care Technician I (ECT II): Assists the health care team in organizing and implementing basic department activities (stocking, results retrieval, patient tracking). Assists the health care provider in patient care: (vital signs, pulse oximetry, ECG, phlebotomy and simple procedures).

The Emergency Department Technician - MMCP role assists the healthcare team in organizing and implementing basic department activities such as stocking, results retrieval and patient tracking. Under the guidance of the physician/advanced practice practitioner, this role will perform patient care such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, ECG, phlebotomy and other simple procedures.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

1. Education: High School graduate or GED preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant license required.

3. Experience: CNA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job training provided.
