Summary

The Manager - Patient Transport supports the Director of Environmental Services and Patient Transport by providing leadership and direction to the Patient Transport Department. The Mgr - Patient Transport ensures that all Supervisors, Transport Techs and Lead Transport Techs have the knowledge, skill and competency to oversee their assigned areas of responsibilities. The Mgr - Patient Transport will also collaboratively and respectfully educate, mentor and support his/her management team in providing leadership in the completion of department responsibilities, including supporting the allocation of staff, equipment and supply resources to fulfill the department's responsibilities. The Mgr - Patient Transport is responsible for building relationships with nursing leadership and other supported departments, utilizing these relationships to communicate with and listen to the customers' needs and ensuring that the management team carries out and properly documents department quality assurance activities. The manager will use the software tools and analyze date to provide department direction and measure department performance.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Must be BLS certified or obtain certification within 3 months of hire.

3. Experience: 7 years' experience in related field preferred. Leadership skills and experience supporting supervisors and working with a staff of 30+. Experience in managing multiple services preferred.

4. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with subordinates and a variety of hospital personnel.

5. Analytical skills necessary to effectively contribute to hospital and department decisions.

6. Ability to prepare reports by utilizing hospital and department computerized software programs.
