Inventory Specialist (2nd Shift)
Position Profile:
The Inventory Specialist is primarily responsible for performing tasks involved in issuing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment in response to Inventory Requests and Work Order pick lists. Follows established procedures and verbal instructions. Assists in cycle counting and is responsible to bring any discrepancies or issues regarding accuracy of inventory balances and locations to the attention of the Inventory Management Supervisor. Strives to maintain high internal customer satisfaction with efficient and complete service and support.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior inventory control experience (1-2 years) in manual and electronic Stockroom Department functions.
- Effective verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization
- Computer literate, with MS Office/PC experience
- Must be a US Citizen
Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, track, and distribute materials and supplies,
- Prepare variety of routine administrative paperwork
- Read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Enter materials from internal and external locations into stock and enter into computerized records system.
- Assign primary stock locations as necessary.
- Pull/pick materials (stocked items) for work orders.
- Prepare items for shipment as required.
- Pull/pick kitting work orders.
- Maintain accurate counts and inventory records
- Distribute and perform material handling duties
Additional Duties / Responsibilities
:
- Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements.
- Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals
- Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization
- Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values
- Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
- Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/shipping & receiving environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration
- This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
- Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are based on a 40-hour work week:
- 2nd shift - 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, starting at 3:30 pm to midnight.
- No travel is expected for this position.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Vision and color vision must pass job-required vision screening
- The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
- The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch, and move about the facility.
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
This position is at our Montville, NJ corporate offices location.
