Purpose of the Role:

The Senior Expeditor plays a pivotal role in ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project requirements by overseeing supplier performance and expediting the procurement process. This role is essential in maintaining the momentum of project schedules, particularly those aligned with Worley's ambition to drive sustainable transformation within the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. The Senior Expeditor will provide leadership and strategic insight, proactively mitigating risks, supporting Supply Management strategy, and contributing to successful project outcomes that meet both customer expectations and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Management Leadership: Lead or participate in the development and implementation of Supply Management strategies, providing ongoing insights to guide the project's supply chain processes.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify and communicate any commercial risks within the project supply chain to ensure seamless, on-schedule services that support Worley and its clients.
  • Supervision and Guidance: Lead a team of expeditors, offering direction and support to foster a collaborative, efficient, and effective work environment.
  • Project Reporting and Communication: Monitor supplier progress and prepare detailed, timely reports to keep project management informed of any potential impacts on schedules or project objectives.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with internal project teams and external stakeholders, ensuring a unified approach to project delivery that aligns with Worley's commitment to sustainable change.

Qualifications / Skill Set:

  • Educational Background and Experience: University degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience in supply chain, logistics, or project management. Extensive relevant experience in expediting, ideally with a background in engineering, energy, or resources industries.
  • Supply Chain Expertise: Advanced knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes, particularly in managing supplier performance and expediting activities to meet complex project demands.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support a team of expeditors, with experience managing cross-functional project teams and overseeing complex supply chain activities.
  • Strategic Problem-Solving: Skilled in identifying issues and developing alternative, timely solutions to keep projects on schedule, particularly in high-stakes, time-sensitive situations.
  • Decision-Making and Prioritization: Able to make informed decisions based on project objectives and to assign and prioritize tasks effectively for both self and team members.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong ability to communicate complex information effectively, with experience preparing and delivering reports, proposals, and presentations to stakeholders and management.
  • Systems and Tools Proficiency: In-depth understanding of relevant systems, processes, and tools within the field, with the ability to troubleshoot, train, and assist team members as necessary.
