Or technical experts possess unique Printed Electronics (PE) industry experience, which includes diverse technical backgrounds ranging from materials science and mechanical engineering to electronics manufacturing and electrical engineering. We apply that knowledge and experience to create value for our customers by pushing PE devices beyond the limits of conventional circuitry.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The Mechanical Design Engineer will primarily be responsible for design, development and implementation for production of electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.

What You Will Do
* Utilize 2D (AutoCAD with GerbArx, Altium Designer) and 3D CAD tools (NX)
* Create prints for silver printed electronic assemblies, flexible printed copper assemblies, and rigid printed circuit board assemblies.
* Verify product design and check manufacturing drawings for completeness and accuracy.
* Generate 3D CAD and 2D prints for creating molded plastic or rubber parts.
* Perform on-site engineering tests and submit product for screen and qualification testing in the reliability lab.
* Use root-cause analysis methods to identify issues and quickly develop corrective actions.
* Follow the Product Development Process to develop new products, then debug and release to production.
* Supply tooling groups with necessary drawings for quoting and tool build.
* Assist manufacturing in the NPI release process and debugging issues.
* Interface with external customers and internal partners to ensure design objectives are met in a timely manner and provides product information, engineering samples and technical advice.
* Perform hands-on activities including teaching operators, performing mechanical tests, prototype fabrication, and part measurements.
* Development of 3D such as plastic injection molded components and rubber keypads.
* Design and tooling of metals; stamping, plating and sheet metal.
* Development of 2D such as gerbers for board layout, functional ink layers, graphic layers, adhesive layers and dome array layer for membrane switch and capacitive touch user interfaces.
* Responsible for follow-up, documentation, publishing and expediting all action items of a new product program.
* Generate DFMEA and contributes to PFMEA documentation on projects where required.
* Prepare and follow engineering change requests (ECR) per document control procedures.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
* Experience in mechanical design for manufacturability
* Experience performing simulations and creating prototypes
* Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
* Design in 2D and 3D CAD
* Willing to learn basic electrical engineering knowledge

What Will Put You Ahead
* 1-3 years experience in designing mechanical assemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies & membrane switch type assemblies Understanding of basic board/circuit layout techniques.
* Great to have industrial design experience or perspective, but focus is on mechanical design person. Being able to talk about color, gloss, texture, and skin feel are all great value add.
* Design experience for products that include flexible silver printed electronics or flexible copper.
* Experience designing for medical wearables and medical user interfaces.
* Experience designing with hydrogel in the layer stack-up (i.e. electrodes).
* Knowledge of materials/substrates such as adhesive films, tapes, PET, label stock, etc.
* Knowledge or experience with in-mold decoration or in-mold electronics.
* Knowledge of industry standards such as: UL, RoHS, ISO .
* Some minor electrical engineering knowledge, such as correct orientation of LEDs in a circuit.
* Understands how to design waterproof enclosures.
* Experience with Requirements Management System and Revision Control systems such as TeamCenter & Polarion.
* Ability to work with cross functional team across different plants, countries, customers. Coordinating with design teams, process engineers, QC Staff, Costing, Operations Staff & Project Management.
* Experience with design for Rotary Conversion.
