Accounting/Finance for the SORC Department

Overview: The Temporary Account Reconciliation Specialist, within the SORC Department, plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records for numerous student organizations. This temporary position is primarily responsible for reconciling year-end reports and ensuring that all financial transactions are appropriately documented and accounted for.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile transactions for student organization accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies and regulations.
  • Review individual financial transactions, including but not limited to invoices, gifts, credit card purchases, travel expenses, event supply purchases, disbursements, concessions, gas cards, departmental transfers, and contracts.
  • Utilize report keys to determine the correct levels and balances of accounts for year-end audits.
  • Utilize university financial and purchasing systems to track and reconcile all incoming and outgoing invoices.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment discrepancies and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets, files, reports, and a detailed ledger of transactions.
  • Analyze accounts, generate statements, and prepare journal entries as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries related to the status and tracking of payments and records.

This is a temporary position with a focus on reconciling year-end reports for student organizations.

Bookkeeping Experience, Finance Experience, and previous Accounting Experience are preferred.
