HJF is seeking a part-time (10 hours/week) Research Associate II to support The Suicide Care, Prevention, and Research Initiative (Suicide CPR Initiative) within the Medical and Clinical Psychology (MPS) department of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to MPS. The Research Associate will serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team and support multiple research projects related to suicide prevention, intervention and postvention. The ideal candidate will have prior military experience and be well-suited to provide subject matter expertise on military programs, policies, and practices related to these research topics.

This position will be in support of the Suicide CPR Initiative, previously known as the Laboratory for the Treatment of Suicide-Related Ideation and Behavior, which was established in 2006. Dr. Holloway, the Director of the Suicide CPR Initiative, is a clinical psychologist and an intervention scientist who is primarily interested in developing and empirically evaluating novel interventions for suicide risk reduction. Overall, the mission of the Suicide CPR Initiative is threefold: CARE: To develop effective interventions targeted at reducing suicidal thoughts and/or behaviors; PREVENTION: To save lives through education, intervention, science, and advocacy; RESEARCH: To advance suicide intervention science and practice.
