Who we are looking for:

VML is seeking a proofreader with a sharp eye and positive team spirit to join the Proofreading Team. With a proven ability to spot errors and ensure uniformity across projects, you'll review content for a variety of clients, checking for accuracy, adherence to client style and clarity of message.

What you'll do:
  • Ensure Quality | You'll review a wide range of content including copy decks, scripts, layouts, storyboards, new-business decks, direct mail materials, websites, web banners, emails and other creative content for accuracy. You'll make editing corrections to address typographical errors, spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, formatting and readability.
  • Collaborate | You'll be an essential partner to designers, art directors, project managers and other team members, fulfilling a vital role in ensuring all creative content is delivered for clients free of errors and strictly adhering to established client standards. You'll also work as part of a close-knit team of proofreaders, helping maintain a consistently high standard of quality across the agency.
  • Document | You'll help update and maintain internal style guides and process documentation used to deliver consistent quality feedback across projects for each of our clients.

  • Focused | You're able to give each project you work on the careful attention required to ensure all creative content is clean, clear and concise.
  • Open and supportive | Our team is close-knit and works together to ensure consensus and uniformity that enables us to deliver consistently excellent content for the agency.
  • Optimistic and resilient | You're excited to dig in and help find solutions when problems arise. You find a balance to maintain stamina without losing positivity in the face of adversity.
What you'll need:
  • Minimum of 2 years of proofreading and editing experience, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Excellent spelling, punctuation, grammar and syntax skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to establish priorities and objectives.
  • Communication skills that allow you to clearly and concisely convey suggestions and revisions in a constructive way.
  • A positive attitude and respect for others.
