What you'll be doing...Verizon's New Business Development team sits within Corporate Development and helps identify strategic opportunities to generate net-new revenue growth and profitability - from new partnerships to drive customer technology experiences to strategic investments to accelerate growth for partners and Verizon in a new market or category of service. The Sr. Director will have high visibility across Verizon and will guide an experienced team and collaborate with others in the Corporate Development organization to deliver on these objectives. Responsibilities and daily activities are focused in three key areas: 1. Identify attractive new product and service opportunities to offer to Verizon's end users: Build robust research- and analytics-based hypotheses around initiatives that align with Verizon's long-term strategic objectives. Take a data-driven approach to vet hypotheses with key internal stakeholders to build internal alignment. Deliver new business models that open up superior service, real revenue pathways & profitability in the long term. 2. Strategically negotiate and close first-of-a-kind deals: Lead complex partnership initiatives that can span across the enterprise and multiple business units; quarterback commercial negotiations directly with the partner for all business and legal terms, building relationships and managing executive partner stakeholders; steer internal Verizon working- level teams and lead Verizon executive communications to propel deals to execution. 3. Drive commercialization governance with internal and external teams: Collaborate cross-functionally on deal life cycle management, including operationalization across technical groups (network and product development), business units (consumer, enterprise, public sector), marketing, legal, PR, and sourcing teams (relative to the deal). Ensure deal governance and operational success by supporting business unit launch preparation and being an efficient escalation point through the GTM process. What we're looking for...* 10+ years of business development (or equivalent) experience, ideally in Technology or Telecom, specifically in conceptualizing new business models & negotiating contracts with end-to-end commercialization activation; experience building relationships and negotiating with Fortune 100 partners is essential. For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances. If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $214,000.00 and $397,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. |
