OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Security Researcher to join our organization to produce custom threat intelligence content for Microsoft customers including engaging directly with a variety of customers to provide briefings or respond to intelligence inquiries. Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) is focused on discovering and tracking threats to customers. MSTIC focuses on reducing global harm and protecting Microsoft and its customers using threat intelligence. The team provides context on the threats that impact customers and owns the single voice of threat intelligence for Microsoft through a central content source. This team supports Microsoft's security products and services with threat intelligence fusion and customer-ready content. We are looking for a Senior Security Researcher to join our organization to produce custom threat intelligence content for Microsoft customers including engaging directly with a variety of customers to provide briefings or respond to intelligence inquiries. They should be able to combine their technical skills and firm grasp of intelligence analysis tradecraft with enthusiasm, ingenuity, results-orientation, and ability to work with the rest of the team. ResponsibilitiesCritical thinking skills to tackle complex analytic problems to include analyzing cyber security threats, contextualizing and writing customer-facing content on cyber security threats, and adapting to changing focus as the threat landscape changes. Responsibilities include: - Researching, analyzing, and contextualizing threat actor, tool, technique and vulnerability related threat intelligence. - Writing complex, customer-facing finished intelligence products on cyber security threats.Creating and delivering security threat focused briefings and presenting to high-level external security audiences. - Adapting your writing style to create new content based on business needs and customer feedback.Identifies, conducts, and supports others in conducting research into critical security areas, such as current attacks, adversary tracking, and the broader cyber security landscape. Partners cross-functionally (e.g., across disciplines, teams, or security versus non-security) research the latest attacks. Advocates priorities. Solicits feedback and evaluates results to incorporate into future research. Demonstrates judgment in identifying projects and priorities. Works with others to synthesize research findings into recommendations for mitigation of security issues. Shares across teams. Drives change within team based on research findings. Contributes to customer-facing products and professional community through publications.
