Clinical Research Assistant

This position is for the Division of General Academic Pediatrics (GAP) within the Department of Pediatrics. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment. Conducts research assessments and procedures independently. Oversees operations when leadership is unavailable. Recruits and screens participants, reviews records and surveys, and maintains databases. Performs routine data analysis and prepares reports, data visualizations, and models.

• Recruits, screens, and enrolls research participants.
• Follows up with study participants to schedule appointments and maintain study retention.
• Conducts research assessments/participant interviews independently.
• Conducts medical record abstraction and documents data in secure study database.
• Attends relevant meetings and assists with reports, data visualizations, abstracts.

The incumbent will assist in completing a medical record abstraction project utilizing UPMC health record systems (Epic, Cerner) and will engage in recruiting and interviewing research participants as part of a research study.
