Process Technician

While reporting to the Shift Supervisor as a Process Technician you will spearhead process improvement through improved process documentation and elimination of errors. Work with Production Supervisor, Press Operators, & Engineering to resolve quality and work flow issues.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Monitors cycle times and adjusts as needed.
• Maintain accuracy of processes during production. Modify processes as required for product orders. Correct errors and work with operators to constantly improve process clarification and effectiveness.
• Conducting mechanical tasks such as process monitoring, sampling and testing, preparing and isolating equipment for maintenance
• Monitors operations process, work, and material flow to ensure quality and customer specs are met.
• Assists maintenance with preventative maintenance projects.
• Back-up on running presses during breaks, etc. and also back up to Shift Supervisor.
• Conducts test and trial runs as needed.
• Performs mold changes and repairs as needed to optimize the molding process
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Performs all duties in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of safety and quality.
• Providing repair and replacement of electrical and/or pneumatic instrumentation and control systems
• Installing new equipment
• Perform all functions in a manner that supports Sonoco's culture of a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Other duties as required.
  
  

This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.

• You can perform work under general supervision.
• You have basic knowledge of equipment and the molding/expansion process preferred along with hydraulics, and pneumatics, steam systems, maintenance programs, etc.
• Have good clerical, technical, and mechanical skills required
• Have the ability to troubleshoot machines
• Have strong communication and organization skills.
• This position requires a self-motivated individual who can multi-task in a fast paced production setting.
