Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for a Production Supervisor at our Taylor Print Impressions facility located in Fridley, MN!

Taylor is seeking a Production Supervisor to develop and lead a customer focused, responsive and efficient Production Team. The Production Supervisor will oversee the bindery department on assigned shift and must possess the ability to work and lead in a professional and effective manner in a fast-paced environment. The Production Supervisor supports our sales and operational efforts by providing solutions for new work types or client expectations.

Your Shift:

  • 1st shift; Monday-Friday
  • During peak periods, this may include occasional evening/weekend hours.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop initiatives that align the department with the company's long-range plans, mission and goals
  • Maintain a good work climate through training, safety awareness, goal setting, process improvement, quality standards, production standards, discipline, and individual and department development
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive team who consistently work in collaboration with one another and other departments to meet customer requirements of quality, quantity and delivery
  • Recognize and react to problems with equipment, make adjustments as required
  • Examine finished products for quality assurance & report defective materials
  • Dedicate time each workday to touch base with employees
  • Keep abreast of relevant technological changes for assigned area
  • Evaluate customer, departmental and employee needs and recommend new technologies
  • Evaluate processes and workflows for improvement opportunities and implement changes
  • Evaluate employee training needs and facilitate training opportunities
  • Determine and monitor appropriate levels of staff for assigned shift
  • Develop and maintain production and quality standards for performance reviews
  • Audit setup checklists
  • Communicate key accomplishments, important facts and performance metrics
  • Hold standup meetings daily or weekly as needed
  • Continuous process improvement is expected

You Must Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior supervisory or management experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing workflow
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, organization and problem solving
  • Excellent communicator, listener, negotiator, and facilitator
  • Ability to understand complex concepts and communicate across all levels of the company
  • High level of motivation
  • Must embrace change/risk and demonstrate a "whatever it takes" attitude
  • Experience in MS Office suite

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Experience in the printing industry
  • Experience with variable data printing and processes
  • Solid understanding of the publishing industry, terminology, direct mail requirements and postal specifications
