Department's Website:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Development Education, Public Health or Health related field PLUS one (1) year experience.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Supervises assigned sites utilized by the Head Start/Early Head Start Program
• Delivers health services and maintain health data and documentation in the data management system
• Monitors assigned sites and children's records to ensure compliance with all state and federal mandates
• Provides training to staff, parents, and volunteers on health needs, CPR, and First Aid
• Coordinates the location and allocation of supplies, materials, and equipment, as well as inventory control in accordance with UAMS and Head Start guidelines
• Arranges transportation of children to medical/dental providers as needed
• Acts as a liaison between families and health service providers, maintaining good rapport with the medical community
• Initiates medical assistance when emergencies arise
• Monitors referrals for follow-up care as needed
• Gathers pertinent information, review children's files, research files, conduct interviews and surveys, and contact other community/state agencies to monitor the existing program
• Serves as a member of the management team in monitoring program sites for compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards
• Works cooperatively with the supervisor and all Head Start staff
• Assists in the coordination of the Health Advisory Committee
