Our team is in the process of transitioning from development to production while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. We are looking to build a road to space to enable a future where millions of people are living and working in space to benefit Earth.

This is a frontline, hands-on-hardware, tank production and assembly Aerospace Technician role. We are looking for Technicians to perform overhead crane moves of tooling and flight hardware, conduct manual blending operations, operate tooling fixtures, execute precision drilling, and install internal and external tank components. The rocket starts with us, we build and assemble the tanks for New Glenn (GS1) First and (GS2) Second stage.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture (GS1) First and (GS2) Second Stage Booster according to written procedures

  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test procedures

  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges and optical measuring instruments

  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds

  • Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person

  • Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.

  • Repetitively climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas

  • Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 50lbs

  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, truck-trailer combinations, and other ground support equipment as required

  • Ability to support scheduled work for any shift, extended hours, and weekends

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written work instructions

  • Understand clean as you go techniques and need for general cleanliness

Qualifications:

  • Use of hand drills, power feed drills (PFD), track drills, Jiffy/E-Tech tools

  • Knowledge of proper drill speeds and feeds for materials being worked

  • Use of drill jigs, bomb sites, and tools needed for hand placement of holes

  • Understand hole angularity and importance of quality hole tolerances

  • Experience drilling through aluminum, titanium, Inconel, and composite stacks

  • Ability to pull holes

  • Experience in application of sealants, adhesives, paints, and primers

  • 8 plus years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field

  • Experience in at least one of the following is required: fluids and tubing install, instrumentation and electrical harness routing, general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly

  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test procedures

  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds

  • Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person

  • Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.

  • Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas

  • Work at Heights on work stands and in lifts

  • Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbs

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field

  • Demonstrated success as a "hands-on" technical leader

  • Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities

  • Continuous improvement mindset. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and improving

  • Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it

  • Experience in handling large aerospace components

  • Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures

  • Experience in new product introduction

  • Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification

  • Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs

  • Military experience

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
