Overview
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Human
Performance Specialist supporting TOS II, at AEDC in TN. The Human Performance Specialist will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.
Job Duties:
Responsible for maintaining and expanding the Human Performance Improvement (HPI) Program, which is a behavior-based, program aimed at creating a positive culture emphasizing disciplined /high reliability work processes and operations, Human Performance (Hu) and industrial/asset safety.
- Work collaboratively with all levels of management to proactively identify opportunities to employ Human Performance as a core value across the company through training, positive reinforcement and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement a strategy with a primary focus on institutionalizing a culture of face-to-face engagement of behaviors that reinforce organizational standards of disciplined operations.
- Perform an initial and on-going assessments to support and modernize Hu training as needed to support the Hu program.
- Develop and establish expectations/policies/procedures to reinforce the HPI program.
- Maintain and enhance the Hu training program to ensure that all management, supervision, and craft personnel are exposed to and trained, as appropriate, on Hu principles and concepts to include error prevention tools and techniques.
- Utilize and enhance processes for acquiring real-time, observation-based data to measure the use of Hu tools and techniques and error rates. Collect, compile, reporting data to analyze trends and make recommendations to correct deficiencies or areas for emphasis/improvement.
- Focus efforts and develop strategy to address the conditions and behaviors that address negative safety trends, emerging safety compliance problems and "safety drift".
- Actively engage with employees through regular communications about HPI program and successes experienced through use of HPI tools & techniques.
- Support customer relations and communication for Hu related activities.
- Complete other duties as required in areas in support of the Safety & Mission Assurance department.
- Develop a training strategy to ensure that all personnel are trained and understand the principle and the various conditions that should warrant using Stop Work Authority (SWA).
- Support customer relations and communication for Human Performance related activities.
- Complete other duties as required in areas in support of the Performance Assurance function.
- It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
- Perform other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience in industrial work setting including at least three years of experience in supervisor or leadership role or 5 years of additional industrial work experience in lieu of degree.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
- Current U. S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years, hands-on experience in the use and application of Human Performance tools & techniques.
- General knowledge of the Human Performance principles and programs and their application to other functions.
- Experience establishing, monitoring, and analyzing data and reporting results to management.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence change in the organization.
- Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of the application of corrective actions and nonconformance reporting and closure
- processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and outstanding leadership, interpersonal skills and
- organizational abilities.
- Must be a U.S Citizen/be able to work and remain in the US without sponsorship and have the ability to obtain and retain project security badge(s), as necessary for travel.
