Job Description

At IPS, we apply our knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to life sciences. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Project Manager to join our talented teams at our job site located in Denver, Colorado.

In this role, you will provide leadership on assigned projects and act to achieve financial, safety, and client relationship objectives.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manages delivery of individual projects and holds primary responsibility for the achievement of cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Identifies risks to the project and corporation and works with Project Directors and Director of Operations to mitigate risks.
  • Develops and maintains written preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans, obtains review and approval from the Project Executive and/or Director of Operations, and communicates to the project team.
  • Works closely with the Construction Manager and Site Superintendent to monitor performance against the target schedule and implement corrective actions against non-conformances.
  • Monitors and reports project costs, including values committed, forecast to commit, allowances for growth, and actually expended.
  • Supports Project Executives, Director of Operations, and General Manager in preparation of project delivery proposals.
  • Works closely with the Construction Manager and Superintendents to ensure that field events, conditions, exceptions, and issues are fully reflected in cost reports.
  • Manages changes to prime contracts, including change control documentation and related financial documentation.
  • Coordinates with Accounting to invoice clients and manage Accounts Receivable to meet corporate goals.
  • Works with financial group to manage project financial issues.
  • Monitors design content and coordinates design revisions for constructibility and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.
  • Prepares and manages subcontracts and purchase orders, including change control documentation and related financial documentation.
  • Supports project/client development process with presentations and related marketing activities.

The salary offered for this role is between $102,000 and $136,000 but the actual salary offered is dependent on experience, skill set, and education.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
  • 10-15 years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrate significant experience both in terms of industry knowledge and positions of leadership.
  • Experience with life science projects is required.

Context, Environment, & Safety

  • This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
  • You may be assigned to a client site for an extended period of time.
  • Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client's location is possible depending on the assignment.
  • You will visit Client sites and will be required to adhere to stated safety rules.
  • This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is considered a field contractor supervisor and acts in a supervisory role for fieldwork for IPS employees or subcontractors.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
