This Academic Advisor 2 position is part of a close-knit, team-oriented group of advisors focused on graduate business students. This position serves as the day-to-day program/student affairs advisor for a specific group of graduate students pursuing a business degree. The position is the primary point of contact for students, from orientation through graduation, allowing ongoing interactions with the same group of students during the full course of the graduate program. The position provides holistic oversight of the graduate student experience, including academic, co-curricular, and student life aspects. Monitors academic progression toward graduation, advises graduate students on problem resolution regarding academic difficulty or delayed completion of degree, addresses course scheduling and registration issues, and provides guidance on curriculum and co-curricular activities. Establishes a close rapport with students and faculty. This position advises students and faculty on academic integrity, academic performance/academic probation, grade policy, leaves of absence, incompletes, and a wide variety of other UCSD and Rady School of Management policy-related issues and completes documentation related to graduation and course registration. This position provides input on course scheduling for their population of students. As a representative of a Rady School graduate business degree program and its students, this position interfaces with the Registrar's Office, the UCSD Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs (GEPA) UCSD Student Financial Solutions (SFS), International Students & Programs Office (ISPO), and several other campus departments. This position plays a major role (with others) in the planning and implementation of special events such as graduation, preterm prep activities, orientation, and other special events geared to the student experience. Due to the confidential nature of student information, knowledge of privacy standards/FERPA is important in this role as is the ability to make entries into and seek information from multiple online systems to access information (systems such as student data systems, enrollment systems, degree/college course credit systems, financial aid systems, online syllabus, shared drives). Note: Each Graduate Academic Advisor specializes in one Rady graduate business program yet is also knowledgeable about other Rady graduate business masters programs: Full-time MBA, FlexEvening MBA, FlexWeekend MBA, Master of Science in Business Analytics, Master of Finance, and Master of Professional Accountancy.

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $53,800 - $91,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $25.77 - $43.58 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
