The Harriet Lane Clinic provides pediatric and adolescent primary care services to the East Baltimore community. The clinic is led by a multidisciplinary team that values the nurses input to provide quality care to patients. The Harriet Lane Clinic serves as a medical home providing services such as general and preventative health care, acute illness care, social work services, mental health services, and parenting support.

We are seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for our Pediatric Primary Care & Specialty Clinics. For nearly a century now, the name Harriet Lane has been synonymous with Johns Hopkins and revolutionary pediatric medicine, research and training. The first hospital in the nation devoted to children, the Harriet Lane Home for Invalid Children helped pioneer the practice of caring for patients in specialty clinics.

In this role as the Assistant Nurse Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our high volume Pediatric Primary Care & Specialty Clinics. From managing staffing and personnel to monitoring the environment, driving performance improvement, and mitigating risks, you will be a key leader in ensuring the provision of exceptional care. Collaborating closely with the Nurse Manager, your insights and communication will contribute to long-term problem-solving and strategic planning. Furthermore, this position offers an opportunity to mentor and manage a dedicated team, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and excellence in the clinical care environment. Your guidance will be instrumental in promoting professional growth and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Who Should Apply:




  • BSN required
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • BLS CPR certification required
  • RN work experience required. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of acute care RN work experience, including 3 years with leadership and/or supervisory responsibilities
  • We would prefer a pediatric and/or ambulatory background for this role
  • Ability to lead others, communicate effectively, problem solve, motivate others, promote cost-effective use of resources, and apply principles of evidence-based practice

Salary Range: Minimum 48.32 per hour - Maximum 74.90 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
