Consultant - Property Tax

What you'll be doing...

• Manage the compliance and valuation for assigned state and local property tax returns, including keeping well documented and accurate analysis and support.
• Manage tax payments to ensure that payments are made timely and that internal policies and procedures are followed.
• Ensuring internal controls are followed for all compliance functions.
• Responsible for handling inquiries and audits related to assigned state and local filings.
• Provide property tax advice and guidance to Verizon management and personnel through subject matter expertise in interpretation of existing laws, regulations, court cases, tax returns and assessments.
• Foster and maintain open communication and working relationships with team, tax department customers and state and local taxing authorities.
• Handle high volumes of data utilizing Property Tax software, Excel, Alteryx, generative AI solutions and other pertinent tools.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Proven success working both hands-on and, in a team-based environment.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Compliance experience.
• Highly motivated, technical & detail-oriented.

Even better if you have:

• Master's degree and/or CPA.
• Big 4 experience.
• 4+ years of multistate property tax or other related experience.
• Ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally.
• Strong analytical and planning skills.
• Strong Alteryx or other generative AI skills.
• Experience with PTMS.
