POSITION SUMMARY: Under supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Production Print Specialist directs and performs, daily production activities for the work center operations. The Production Print Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing process improvement, sharing of best practice techniques and ensures the accuracy of large/high profile orders. The Production Print Specialist also performs preventive maintenance on equipment as assigned. POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates highly technical production equipment, while sharing knowledge of machine capabilities and best practices (cross-training) with production team members.
- Assists with troubleshooting problems from production team on equipment, processes and orders, communicates with production management and other department heads as needed.
- Identifies process improvements to ensure an efficient workflow, provides input and suggestions regarding future automation needs in production.
- Performs routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary
- Maintains production rate consistency; meet or exceed established minimum production rates.
- Works effectively on different projects simultaneously.
- Comply with relevant occupational health and safety requirements.
- Keep the production area neat, clean, and organized.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5-10 years related experience in a technically driven production environment, and/or other equivalent, relevant combination of education/experience preferred.
- Experience in print industry is a plus.
- Must be able to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, accuracy, timeliness, reliability, productivity, and housekeeping.
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret technical information related to products, processes, and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Self-motivated, ability to work at a fast pace.
- High attention to detail; a good eye for color and design is necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT There is a moderate risk of injury. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average at least 40-45 per week. Additional hours may be required as dictated by business needs. Consistent and regular attendance required.
