The Building Specialist position in Leavenworth is on 2nd or 3rd shift, depending on preference.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The Building Specialist is proficient in a wide variety of skills associated with operating heavy when needed equipment. In addition, the Specialist provides facility support in meeting room setup, trash collection, and lounge supplies. The incumbent works closely with managers, co-workers and independently with no supervision. Incumbent works overtime as needed and is a contributing member of the team.

Leavenworth SC Grounds Maintenance: Removes snow with hand shovel and spreads calcium chloride and sand to icy areas. Monitors entrance areas for trash and debris. The position requires lifting up to 70 pounds, bending and reaching while working in extreme cold and/or heat. Provides equipment PM support on blade sharpening and equipment cleaning. Mounts various tractor and truck attachments as needed.

Facility Support: Meeting room set-up, furniture moves, and restock supplies.

Floor Maintenance: Removes core area trash dumpsters utilizing a battery operated 750 lb. capacity tow-tractor. Performs all job functions in a safe manner, following established safety procedures and guideline. Required to work overtime when necessary to complete all projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • You're at least 18 years of age
  • You're able to read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to operate hand tools to perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment used within Building Services
  • Have a state driver's license in good standing.
  • Experience with a computer.
  • Ability to constantly, stand, walk push/pull and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds constantly, up to 40 pounds frequently and lift up to 70 pounds occasionally.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Must be able to respond to machinery signaling devices and communication via department intercom.
  • Must follow established safety procedures in all job aspects along with the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to safely use a utility or stock knife.
  • Ability to work well with people and interact/work as a team.



ADDITIONAL DETAILS



  • The Building Specialist is located at the Hallmark Leavenworth SC facility in Leavenworth, KS. Relocation will not be provided. Occasional work at other Hallmark facility locations may be required.
  • This is a 2nd or 3rd shift opportunity, depending on preference.

    • 2nd shift runs Mon-Fri, 3:30pm - 12am
    • 3rd shift runs Sun-Thurs, 11:30pm - 8am


  • Must work overtime as required during peak seasons.
  • This position requires the ability to work in extreme cold and/or heat.
