PE-Duty Gear - R&D Design Technician-DGM

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Laminate Holster Design and Validation
  
  
  
  • Designs holster flat-patterns using forming tools provided by Engineering
  • Makes manual design modifications to forming tools and communicates changes to Engineering.
  • Designs and fabricates forming tools stands for use in production
  • Building Holster samples for testing and or sales T&E
  • Assists in performing product tests and validation
  • Prototype fabrication
  • Fit checks of new and existing holsters/weapons
  • Reviews new Bills of Material (BOMs) for completeness and accuracy
  
  
  
  

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Familiarity with Safariland holsters and their construction
• Familiarity with handguns, their identification and operation
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools and small power tools
• Good communication skills and ability to work constructively with others
• Basic proficiency in spoken and written English
• Familiarity with Microsoft productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)

HELPFUL SKILLS:

• Familiarity with adhesives and solvents and their proper use
• Knowledge of Laminate holster manufacturing process
• Milling machine operation and knowledge of speeds and feeds
• Hand modelling skills and repair work using Bondo
• TIG welding
• Leatherwork and sewing
