Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking Mentors for the Rutgers I-Corps Program. The Mentor will be knowledgeable in one or more of the following NSF I-Corps related areas: Lean Startup Methodologies, Business Model Canvas, Customer Discovery, Jobs to Be Done. The position will be responsible for reviewing I-Corps submissions from I-Corps teams, facilitating discussions during the cohort and holding Office Hours with teams, as needed. The Mentor will work closely with the Rutgers I-Corps Program Manager & Director to ensure delivery of high-quality programming that prepares teams of scientists, researchers, and innovators to explore the commercial potential of their innovation.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Requires at least two years of experience in higher education. Also requires good communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications/Licenses
Prior experience with mentoring entrepreneurial teams in a virtual setting, in an NSF I-Corps Regional Program (National I-Corps Teams Program experience preferred), or in a related field. Completion of the Employing Inclusive Teaching Practices module as directed by the Regional Instructor Trainer (must be completed within 30-60 days of accepting this position)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred participation in a prior NSF I-Corps regional cohort at a Partner Institution of Higher Education within an NSF I-Corps Hub (preferably from within the Northeast Region), experience with teaching or mentoring an I-Corps team in a regional I-Corps program
