The University of New Mexico Dean of Students Office is seeking a self-motivated, friendly, reliable, and detail oriented individual to assist the Basic Needs Specialist in the Lobo Food Pantry. Food Pantry Assistants are a central part of a collaborative and dynamic team that is passionate about ending student hunger and its root causes on campus. Within this position, students gain experience in food insecurity solutions and development in advocacy efforts. The Food Pantry Assistant will oversee operations at the Lobo Food Pantry during scheduled open hours, support professional staff in campus food donation initiatives and donation collections, assist with incoming deliveries from Roadrunner Food Bank and facilitate student access to essential campus and community basic needs resources. Student staff can expect to work an average of 15-20 hours per week. Position is anticipated to begin during Spring 2025. The Food Pantry Assistant must be able to lift boxes and supplies up to 40lbs and operate basic moving equipment. They must also be able to maintain work-study eligibility.
