Business Operations Manager - Nursing Administration

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Manages Business Operations of assigned clinics to ensure Parkland's financial resources are secured while providing high quality patient care and customer service.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Prefer a Master's degree in a related field.

Experience: Must have five years of experience in a hospital, financial institution, or related organization.

Cancer Services: Must have a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and five years of relevant experience. Master's of Science degree in Nursing preferred.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience: May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

Cancer Services: Must have current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.

Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:

• American Heart Association
• American Red Cross Rescuer
• Military Training Network.

Skills or Special Abilities

- Must demonstrate knowledge of health care management, admitting management, Medicaid, Medicare and commercial insurance collections.

- Must be familiar with accounting, auditing methods, and financial systems management.

- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Must be proficient with word processing and spread sheet software.

- Must show evidence of good basic personal computer skills.

- Must have good organizational skills and good people management skills.

Cancer Services In addition to the above, must also have:

- Applicants must pass Medication Examination prior to hospital orientation. Current Parkland employees requesting reassignment to role must have current Medication Examination on file.

- Maintains standards of professional conduct and performs all assigned and unassigned duties in accordance with the current State of Texas Nursing Practice Act.

- Must possess a keen understanding of clinical operations (preferably Oncology), medical teams and operational efficiencies to support the clinical environment.
