HJF is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Associate to perform clinical research and patient treatment in conjunction with one or more specified clinical research protocols. Supervised by either a Clinical Site Manager or designee.

This position will be in support of the Vascular Service in Department of Surgery. The research program is looking at the improved development of hemodialysis machines.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. Responsibilities

  • Assists research team to identify problems in the research design or analysis methodology and trends in treatment.
  • Collects, organizes, catalogs, disseminates, and maintains appropriate files of current data. Maintains weekly/monthly status reports on all patients.
  • Acts as a liaison between staff and physicians and serves as a resource for the staff. Acts as a research case manager for the staff where appropriate.
  • Prepares and maintains manual and computerized data in study books according to prescribed standards.
  • Transcribes and resolves queries of data in case report forms (hardcopy or electronic) and prepares documents, under direction of project heads, reporting statistical analyses and descriptive data from patient's study books to be used in research reports.
  • Schedules appointments and visits for staff and physicains. Assists with monitoring audits/visits for protocols. Travels from their assigned workplace to support protocols at other sites as needed.
  • Is familar with IACUC protocols- can submit, edit and modify protocols
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or health related field.
  • Minimum of 9-10 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to research involving human subjects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to work with individuals of all levels.
  • Specialized animal training.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust Background Check.

Physical Capabilities

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in a clinic setting.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $88,600-$90,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
