Overview

The Application Integration Developer is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining integration solutions using Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Biztalk Server, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, and Microsoft Visual Studio. This position primarily works independently, but interacts closely with other IT members and various departments to meet company and client needs. The Application Developer will have complete ownership of the application stack.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Maintain, Design, and develop integration solutions using SQL, BizTalk, and SSIS technologies.
  • Full lifecycle application development.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing integration solutions.
  • Conducts software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics and system risk and reliability analysis.
  • Conducts software modeling and simulation to ensure system functionality.
  • Performs software testing and quality assurance, including Unit testing.
  • Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability and automation.
  • Supports, maintains, documents, and reports software functionality.
  • Ensures and promotes effective and efficient utilization of company resources.
  • Participates in development of long range planning for new projects and programs.
  • Maintains all standards of compliance.
  • Provides advice, training and technical support for various projects as required.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.
  • Develop sustainable business relationships with application users, gaining increased knowledge of their needs and challenges to implement effective solutions.
  • Present project vision, architecture, and strategy while driving transformation.
  • Gather business requirements through relationships with business users.
  • Demonstrate concern for meeting business needs in a manner that provides satisfaction and excellent results.
  • Create and conduct test plans to validate the solution meets business requirements.
  • Follow industry technology trends through self-study and formal training, and share that knowledge internally.


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL, BizTalk, SSIS, and deployment tools.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience developing integration solutions.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience with Microsoft SQL databases and concepts required.
  • A minimum of 3 years' project leadership experience desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of integration architecture patterns and principles.
  • Knowledge of XML, XSLT, and other integration technologies.
  • Certification in Microsoft SQL and BizTalk strongly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess expert knowledge of all listed computer languages and platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of data structures, computer logic and computer program design methods and techniques.
  • Experience working within an agile development environment.
  • Ability to write, edit and debug computer programs in order to achieve desired output.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical and statistical principles and formulas.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common and complex source code, program manuals, and/or licensing and legal contracts and documents.
  • Ability to write clearly and informatively to all required audiences and edit own work for appropriate spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to respond appropriately and professionally to all inquiries or complaints from staff, regulatory agencies, upper management, and/or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one, in small to large groups, to top management, and/or clients or vendors of the company.
