Database Administrator:

Our client is looking for an Database Administrator. You will help perform regular maintenance such as software updates, back ups and resolving any issues that may arise.

Scope:

  • Manage and maintain our PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, and Kafka, ensuring high availability and reliability on our in-house kubernetes platform.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as reindexing, backups, patching, and software upgrades.
  • Monitor the performance and health of our databases, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Design and implement growth strategies for our databases, ensuring they can handle our organization's increasing data needs.
  • Collaborate with software developers and other scientific computing staff to optimize database performance and support application development.
  • Develop and implement security measures to protect our databases from unauthorized access or data breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.



Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Kafka.
  • Extensive experience with database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Experience with database security best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



Estimated Min Rate: $75.00
Estimated Max Rate: $85.00
