This position has an expert level of technical knowledge and skills for the operation and maintenance of the UGA campus building HVAC systems and will perform in the operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the most complex building HVAC systems and components. This position has an expert level of mechanical skills and technical knowledge for performing checks to ensure HVAC systems are delivering the correct air volumes at the air delivery points. Knowledge of chillers, cooling towers, water treatment systems, air handlers, terminal units, water coils, pumps, valves, motor starters, pneumatic controls, and Building Automation Systems ( BAS). This position works independently to complete tasks within this competency.

This position has expert level technical knowledge and skills in the operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of building HVAC systems and components including but not limited to making repairs and performing checks to ensure HVAC systems are delivering the correct air volumes at the air delivery points, chillers, cooling towers, water treatment systems, air handlers, terminal units, water coils, pumps, valves, and motor starters, Building Automation Systems ( BAS) and the following:

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and test HVAC Control Systems.

Troubleshoot and repair other HVAC system problems.

Use test, adjustment, and balance ( TAB) techniques to diagnose HVAC system problems and investigate and resolve Indoor Air Quality ( IAQ) complaints.

Assist professional engineers in evaluating building HVAC systems to identify problems and verify system performance.

Interact and communicate professionally with customers on jobs when coordinating of work.
