Purpose of the Role:

This role has responsibility to lead and develop a team in our Worley strategy practice, working with corporate leaders to provide value through complex deals. Help them identify and assess targets, understand the potential for value creation, and when and how to divest. Bring your experience and work with organizations on due diligence, restructuring, transformation, integrations, divestiture strategy, or M&A IT.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise and Thought Leadership:



  • Detail orientated with significant consulting experience.
  • Strong self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset and motivated.
  • Practical consulting experience - including scoping, selling, and delivery.
  • Experience of Refining / Petrochemicals / Power / Gas Processing/ Hydrocarbon processing and upstream sectors is preferred.
  • Critical thinking, analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, produce concise reports and presentations appropriate for all levels (from project management to C-level).
  • Confidence to work at all levels of a client organization (Board to Technician).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Desire to expand role and be adaptable to client's needs.
  • Assists, and later, leads the preparation of proposals, execution plans and budgets.
  • Supports a continuous improvement culture and identifies gaps, develops work processes, tools, and methodologies to drive productivity and growth.
  • Manages one or more client relationships.
  • Generates business opportunities.
  • Drives Advisian business and Worley pull-through opportunities through the organization.
  • Takes the lead to identify and develop new services to meet changing customer needs.
  • Uses an understanding of clients' changing business environments to develop new services.
  • Presents solutions in terms of incremental economic value and competitive advantage to clients.
  • Displays understanding of manufacturing industries.
  • Experience developing market analysis for multiple industries.
  • Experience leading projects.
  • Experience of leading a workstream on M&A engagements for clients/ stakeholders.
  • Experience in framing hypothesis and adopting recognized Strategy frameworks and techniques in the problems you are trying to solve.
  • Experience of research, quantitative analysis, structured problem solving and executive communication techniques.

  • Takes ownership for project success: delivery of target quality, cost management and customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively builds tools and methodologies to drive productivity and growth.
  • Lead role in work process improvement
  • Models' safety excellence; proactive in identification of and closure to gaps.


Team Collaboration and Supervision:



  • Effectively communicates (verbal and written) expertise to peers and customers and facilitates communications across multi-party activities; helps others develop these skills.
  • Leads post-project audits, translating key lessons into improvement actions.
  • Organizes and leads company meetings with customers.
  • Leverages and helps develop the diverse background and skills of people for the attainment of company goals.
  • Plans and executes projects through teamwork with other departments and with outside organizations.
  • Identifies gaps in and builds an environment which has readily accessible knowledge and continuous learning.
  • Mentors and assists with career development of Senior Consultants.


Technical Excellence:



  • Has appropriate level of technical knowledge and industry insight to be able to lead discussions with clients.
  • Presents technical papers and publishes articles.
  • Able to translate customer needs and strategies into project definition with objectives and constraints.
  • Drives the improvement of Advisian technical and economics modelling capabilities.


Qualifications / Skill Set:

Expertise and Recognition:



  • MBA, BS, in Finance, Accounting with 10+ years of experience as a management consultant preferred.
  • CPA or CA highly desired.


Professional Experience:



  • Minimum of 10+ years industry experience.


  • Experience at a top tier or boutique consulting firm, Big 4 or through an 'in-house' consulting / business development role.
  • Experience in areas of the M&A lifecycle (e.g., commercial/ IT/ operational due diligence, merger integration).

  • Work with project manager(s) to ensure that HSE requirements are documented and understood by all project participants.
  • Compliance with HSE procedures.
  • Maintain HSE focus for project duration

  • Achieves results set by self and others, meeting timelines, and pushing for stretch goals, reflecting Worley's commitment to delivering value over the life of assets.
