JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides clinical oversight for all psychiatric staff and nursing staff. Assists in the staffing of psychiatric and nursing staff including recruitment and training. Assists Leadership with coordinating clinical supervision as appropriate for psychiatric staff. Provides clinical supervision for APRNs.Serves as an interface for psychiatric services and related medical services with all Centerstone programs in an effective and positive manner. Provides direct patient care, as appropriate, based on the number of APRNs supervised.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates as a member of the leadership team regarding the delivery, coordination, and supervision of all psychiatric and medical support services
  • Ensures the appropriate clinical supervision of psychiatric staff in the delivery of psychiatric services as required by contract provision, law and/or regulatory requirement
  • In conjunction with leader, ensures or facilitates training as appropriate for psychiatric and nursing staff
  • Works with appropriate staff in the development, review, and updating of APRN protocols
  • Attendance at and active participation in assigned leadership and committee meetings
  • Participates in psychiatric on-call schedule
  • Provides direct patient care as assigned according to supervision duties
  • Works effectively with leadership team to ensure both timely and effective problem solving related to psychiatric services
  • Assures effective coordination of psychiatric services with an emphasis on meeting established performance standards and licensure requirements
  • Conducts monthly meetings with medical staff
  • Works collaboratively with leaders to establish and maintain appropriate productivity expectations for psychiatric staff in accordance with productivity standards
  • Works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary treatment teams, including primary care providers, to promote teamwork and ensure whole-person care within the organization
  • Provides assistance with recruitment of qualified physicians, APRNs, and other medical staff members for clinical operations
  • Works cooperatively with leadership to maintain fiscal accountability for medical services in the assigned region
  • Clinical Supervisory Responsibilities for assigned staff

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicates via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods
  • Strong leadership skills - proven ability to take initiative leading team members
  • Detailed and working knowledge of clinical psychiatry, relevant ethical standards, and relevant areas of medical practice
  • Adaptability and flexibility - able to adjust and adapt to situations as they arise in the workplace, both clinically and administratively
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with others and is an active member of multidisciplinary teams
  • Proactive, strategic, and detail-oriented
  • Strong commitment to quality, efficiency and effectiveness
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Strong supervisory and management skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • MD or DO required

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience working as board certified psychiatrist in a relevant clinical setting (i.e. CMHC, psychiatric hospital, etc.)
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in psychiatric leadership roles and with experience working with substance use disorder

Certification/Licensure

  • Valid licensure or license eligible as an MD or DO in Indiana
  • Must be Board Certified

Work Location:

  • This position may report to our Richmond, IN, Bloomington, IN, or Columbus, IN office.

$282,500.00--$423,750.00
