What you'll do

As the Inside Sales Representative for Utilimaster (A Shyft Brand) based at our facility in Bristol, IN, you will enjoy interfacing with clients to identify and recommend parts and services associated with all product lines manufactured by Utilimaster, in addition to similar products capable of being serviced by our team.

You will focus on handling inbound calls and making outbound calls to identify new business opportunities and generate parts and sales quotations and sales. You will also be accountable for auditing all electronic orders for accuracy, approving and releasing EDI sales orders, addressing client concerns and resolving them with accuracy, speed, and commitment to the result.

In addition, you will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to ensure all interactions are completed to the customer's satisfaction. You may also have the ability, at management's discretion, to work remotely and or as part of a hybrid work environment.

You will also:

  • Initiate sales calls to existing customers to assess the need for replenishing inventories
  • Issue and process return goods authorizations and facilitate timely payments
  • Communicate issues to Technical Engineering support for solution
  • Partner with buyer regarding special part purchases
  • Determine vehicle specifications online, within files, or within other data management systems
  • Process, expedite, and follow-up on customer orders
  • Gain a detailed understanding of the competitive landscape and communicate actively with leadership
  • Meet or exceed all individual sales quotas and departmental performance metrics defined by leadership
    Order parts using company ERP system, online parts manuals, engineering prints, and photographs
  • Participate in initiatives that contribute to sales, profit, process, procedure, and performance improvements
  • Prepare, issue, and follow up on all parts sale's quotes with the intent on quote conversion to a sale
  • Provide support and guidance to shipping department colleagues
  • Resolve customer service-related issues
  • Respond promptly, accurately, and professionally to customer inquiries
  • Collaborate with vehicle sales teams to understand client expectations and deliver on commitments
  • Partner with customers, identify solutions, and leverage cross-selling and up-selling programs to maximize revenues
  • Develop new relationships with prospective customers and suppliers and industry professionals
  • Nurture client relationships and support the outside sales team

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of Inside sales experience.
  • Strong product knowledge of the operation and assembly walk-in vans, truck bodies, upfits, or custom truck solutions preferred.
  • A history of interacting with customers, fleet managers, and unit owners (written and verbal)
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, primarily Outlook, and familiarity with Salesforce and Aurora
  • Ability to interpret build orders, BOMs, and assembly prints
  • Versed in problem-solving and attentive to detail
  • A track record of excellent attendance
  • Customer service-oriented mindset
  • Selling skills
  • Tactfulness and ability to negotiate with the customer
  • Empathetic to customer issues and able to handle a high stress environment
  • Experience with high-volume call processing
