As a Managing Partner in SLED Sales, you'll build, develop and lead an outstanding team of high performing sales professionals. With your expert leadership skills, you'll motivate and empower your sales team to deliver outstanding customer service and solutions to customers to make their businesses run better, faster, and smarter. With your ongoing mentorship and development, you'll drive the sales performance of your team.This position is responsible for Government Sales for Verizon Connect within a defined region and/or segment.
What we're looking for:
A strong leadership presence and clear and effective communication with all types of audiences. You're agile and can think quickly on your feet to solve problems and address issues in the moment. People see you as a coach and mentor - you view your team's accomplishments as your key indicator for success. You take ownership of an assigned territory focused on new logos and upsell opportunities within the Public Sector/SLED space. You constantly build a pipeline using new techniques, tools, joint marketing initiatives, trade shows, prospecting and joint account planning with the broader Verizon Business Group. You win deals through world-class planning and preparation, as well as being consultative in your approach to solving real business problems.
In this position you will be:
  • Enabling your team to deliver best-in-class customer service.
  • Leading, developing and tracking your team's performance.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to acquire new business.
  • Modeling effective sales strategies for your team to follow.
  • Tracking and reporting key financial, budget, and sales metrics.
  • Work closely with the broader Verizon sales teams to strategize on accounts to provide Telematics solutions to Government Clients.
  • Acting as the expert on our offerings and knowing what the competition is doing.
  • Identifying and coordinating efforts in responding to RFPs and complying with government bid and contracting processes.
  • Partnering with the Government CS Leadership Team to align on the needs of the customer in an effort to provide valuable solutions in an effort to retain and grow the customer for the long term.
This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Eligibility to pass Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Experience bidding, selling to and contracting with government agencies
  • Selling complex technical solutions and/or systems integration sales, ideally strategic solutions.
  • A record or meeting or exceeding challenging sales targets.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deals under tight timelines.
  • Experience leading a high performing sales team, ideally in a commissions-based environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling sales proposals, business cases, and value propositions.
  • Previous experience selling telematics.
Where you'll be working

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $124,000.00 and $230,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is a commission based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
