Job Summary Under direction of the Academic Administrator/Executive Director - Supervisor, as a University of California, Davis Seed Biotechnology Center (SBC, sbc.ucdavis.edu) program representative, will provide overall management and support of short courses up to one week-long, such as Seed Business 101(SB101) 5-day course, various other short courses, meetings and events. Contribute to the enhancement and delivery of various short courses offered by the SBC. Serve as primary lead of these courses and various other events. Provide development of the programs, host events, and assist in the marketing and outreach. Apply By Date December 3, 2024 at 11:59pm Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Experience in program administration with demonstrated management skills in planning, analysis, organization, leadership, conflict resolution, decision making and independent thinking. Conference/workshop/event planning experience.
- Skills to interact effectively with agency representatives, industry personnel, researchers, department staff, CE staff, interest group representatives and administrators.
- Skills to conduct thorough logical analysis of a situation, task or program, including identification of issues, challenges, barriers, possible solution, weighing their pros and cons, and plan and positively resolve the situation with ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent skills to support client relations and maintain the highest level of quality customer service techniques, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally before groups.
- Excellent writing and editing skills. Knowledge of basic copyright law, web and fair use.
- Computer skills to use and maintain databases, spreadsheets and word processing using programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Photoshop.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in collecting data from evaluations of programs, and projects in order to determine the effectiveness, improvement need and success of programs and projects.
- Experience producing high quality work using Adobe products(Acrobat and PhotoShop).
- Demonstrated skill and experience in desktop publishing and image processing.
- Skills and ability working in the seed industry and general agricultural crop practices.Skills to create web pages and online registration forms.
- Publication, printing and production knowledge and layout skills.Publicity/promotion/media skills.Knowledge of CE and University organization, staff, programs and policy.

Department Overview Under the supervision of the Academic Administrator/Executive Director, the Program Representative will act as the primary manager is expected to contribute to the evolution of the program. Responsibilities include: program organization, executing the programs, hosting other events, assisting with website updates, information dissemination and outreach. The Short courses such as Seed Business 101 is designed to teach people new to the industry about the seed business, etc. These courses are offered multiple times throughout a year in the USA. This position could also be responsible for various other SBC educational programs both in-person and online (i.e. 2.5-day courses), meetings, events and conferences. POSITION INFORMATION
